Missing: A photo of Eljay the web-dancing frog. Candid shots of him are all over the site, but today he turned shy. His picture will be here with the rest of the gang, - shortly . |
I say "our" mission, because truly, no man is an island. We all need help to achieve our goals, -not employees, but friends and co-workers in the truest sense of the word. Twenty years as a production craftsman proved how hard it was to find detailed show information. We designed Art & Craft Show Yellow Pages to fill that need . My best friend, Lou Chypre. His behind-the-scenes support guided my business when I worked with clay and metals. He built displays and helped at shows. Now he keeps accounts balanced and manages business.

The listings of art and craft shows, tips and techniques on display, marketing, etc. on this site are the culmination of Betty Chypre's experience as a craftsman.
An enthusiastic member of the Hudson Valley Artisans' Guild, she has documented tips, techniques, art and craft marketing ideas, display techniques and information revealed at workshops by professional craftsmen and artists for almost 20 years. These have been published in more than 70 issues of the Hudson Valley Artisans' Guild Newsletter. Her monthly articles appear in trade publications across the nation including the National Crafts Association's newsletter, Craftmaster News, Arts and Crafts Show Business, and others.
Like you, she spent time and money on long-distance phone calls to find out if an art and craft fair was indoors, - or outdoors, -if there was security, electricity, - the size of the spaces, and most important: what else was going on, on-site, that could influence sales! (Think about donkey rides, a ferris wheel, a fireman's parade at noon.) Each one has an impact on your sales, for better or worse.
Art & Craft
Show Yellow Pages is published because detailed show
information is hard to find unless you chase it
down as she did when she was doing the show route. This
is what the Show Directory provides, - and your subscription
to ART & CRAFT SHOW YELLOW PAGES comes with a " no-regrets" Guarantee of Satisfaction.

Some time ago Betty came
across this quote, and adopted it as a way of life and work:
" Be diligent.
Be Meticulous. Be Honest. Account for every
variable . Acknowledge
that which you do not know, then, at the first opportunity, learn it. Believe
in yourself. That is our system. Honor it, and it will support you like
a rock."

Guiding words and ideas are found in arcane places; she recognized her beliefs in these words. We hope they inspire you .
